In the Classified Documents exhibit, early black-and-white photographs sit against bold walls of colors inspired by related contemporaneous memorabilia. This exhibition design was a graphic exercise to use minimal means to set off the photographs while evoking their original display in updated swing-frames. The design aimed to transport the viewer into a stylized representation of early twentieth-century installation techniques, allowing them to more fully engage with the layered stories revealed by the exhibition's content. |
